Key fobs work like an access card, but are smaller in size, use wireless technology, and do not have the holder’s picture or information on display. Their application is very similar to the access cards, and is an economical option for small businesses. In terms of access control, biometric systems are by far the most secure. This is the ideal solution to control access to highly sensitive and valuable assets or data. A scanner or reader is pre-programmed with identification information of the employees, vendors, etc. that are allowed to enter a restricted area. Since biometric systems use unique biological features of humans like retina scan and fingerprints, there is very little chance of misuse or errors.

Being able to monitor the access control system has many advantages. It keeps a record of employee attendance and a log of visitors. It also creates efficiencies and reduces the need for security personnel, as locking down or restricting someone from entering can be done remotely.
